A high school diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a diesel technology or automotive training program, preferably coupled with several years of hands-on experience. Your strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and diagnostics is crucial for effectively diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals will enable you to perform routine maintenance and repairs, ensuring vehicle safety and performance. You should have strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude, along with the ability to read and interpret technical documents.
