Position Summary:

Hospice volunteers play a vital role in providing comfort, support, and companionship to patients and families during end-of-life care. Volunteers offer their time and presence to enhance the quality of life for patients and support the hospice care team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide companionship through friendly visits, reading, conversation, or playing music.

  • Offer caregiver relief through respite visits.

  • Participate in bereavement support by making calls or writing letters.

  • Help with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, or mailings.

  • Document visit notes and time logs accurately and timely.

  • Qualifications:
    • Compassionate, patient, and dependable.

    • Excellent listening and communication skills.

    • Must be at least 18 years old.

    • Able to pass background check and health screening (TB test, etc.).

    • Completion of required hospice volunteer training.


    Time Commitment:

    Flexible; generally 1–4 hours per week depending on volunteer availability and patient needs.
