Clinic Assistant
Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable and compassionate Optometric Assistant to join our clinics located in Frisco, McKinney, Garland and Mesquite. This role combines patient care with administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience. Saturdays are required.
Schedule: Part-time, averaging 8-32 hours per week. Must be available one weekday M-F and Saturdays are required. Part-time student staff typically work according to their class schedule. For example, class days are Mon/Wed/Fri, so availability is Tuesday and Saturday. We don't offer half-day shifts, as our clinics are busy all day. Work hours are typically 9:30 am -5:30 pm.

Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment
- Escort patients, record medical history, and perform basic pre-tests (auto-refraction, tonometry, visual acuity)
- Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care
- Assist doctors during exams and maintain accurate EHR records
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies
- Greet and assist patients at check-in
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical Assistant certification (preferred, not required)
- Prior medical/optometry office experience (preferred; training provided)
- Excellent customer service, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs
