Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will work within the Engineering Department to create and evaluate existing manufacturing processes for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis milling machines.ResponsibilitiesDevelop cost effective manufacturing process to support 4-5 axis machining centers Design cost effective and quick changeover manufacturing fixtures and toolingCreate shop floor documentation including operation sheets and work instructionsImplement cost reduction initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniquesInitiate corrective actions to floor processes Cost estimating and quotingParticipation in lean and continuous improvement eventsQualifications: Experience with Aerospace materials Proficient with Unigraphics NX4-5, CAM and 3D modeling Must be accustomed to deadlines and accountabilityExperience with complex aerospace parts including milling and turning processesLean manufacturing techniquesEffective time management skills including multi-taskingAbility to read blueprints. Speak and write reports in English.High attention to detail. Develop and follow procedures.3+ years experience
