Wilkes University invites applicants for an open High School Trigonometry & Pre-Calculus teaching position in the Upward Bound Program. Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO Program that provides support to high school students in career exploration, preparation for college, and ultimately, their higher education pursuits.The successful candidate is responsible for implementing the academic component of the program by teaching and tutoring high school students in Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus during structured class periods. The course is designed to supplement and strengthen students' knowledge of material covered in their current high school mathematics courses. Instruction may include topics such as trigonometric functions, identities and equations, graphs, functions, and other foundational concepts that prepare students for higher-level mathematics. A Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, and/or a related field is required. Experience working with high school students or in a college-preparatory program is preferred.Please note that this is a part-time, temporary position for Fall 2026 with an hourly wage. Program dates run from September 24th through December 10th, with classes held Thursday evenings from 6:30 P.M. – 8:20 P.M.
