Established in 1948, The Mission of ASCEND Mental Wellness is to encourage and assist individuals in discovering pathways to their optimal mental health and wellness, while supporting hope and awareness of well-being in our community.Caleo Counseling Services, the outpatient clinic of ASCEND, is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner either part-time or full-time with flexible hours to work with a diverse mental health population of adults. This individual will work as part of a multidisciplinary team for individualized mental health treatment and coordination of care for clients.ASCEND offers a comprehensive benefit package including healthcare benefits, retirement plan enrollment, generous paid time off, and CEU stipends provided. Salary based on qualifications. Sign-on bonus provided. Also, we participate in student loan repayment programs.Full-Time & Part-Time available; this is an in-person, on-site position with remote capabilities. Supervision and support with a collaborating psychiatrist available. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Education & Qualification Requirements:Current licensure and registration as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by New York State.Current DEA licensureValid NYS driver's license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.Must be of good character and background and display an affinity for working with people with mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.Must have the ability to work independently, have good problem solving skills and have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Provide therapeutic intervention on an ongoing basis with clients to assist them to understand their emotional and mental behavior, and to help with their recovery.Diagnose and treat mental disorders by using analysis through cognitive and therapeutic testing, interviews and observation, counseling and medication.Collaborate and coordinate treatment with other service providers in the community.Participate in team meetings, and supervision as necessary, as well as engage in ongoing continuing education.Order laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluate data obtained.ASCEND Mental Wellness provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
