Fleet Diesel Maintenance Technician — Sarasota, FL

Help a family‑owned operation maximize uptime for a mixed fleet of diesel trucks, trailer‑mounted concrete pumps, and heavy machinery. Your mission: proactive maintenance, fast diagnostics, and quality repairs that keep people and projects safe and productive.

About the role
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel trucks, concrete pumps, and heavy equipment—both in the shop and, when needed, in the field.
  • Complete routine inspections, scheduled PMs, and safety verifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Repair/replace components and subsystems to factory or better standards.
  • Maintain precise service documentation and communicate asset condition.
  • Respond to breakdown calls to reduce downtime and support operations.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with operators and management to sequence repairs efficiently.
Must‑haves
  • Experience as a diesel or heavy equipment technician.
  • Solid understanding of diesel powertrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnostic agility with a track record of timely fixes.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Personal basic tools preferred (not required).
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
  • Team‑oriented with the ability to execute independently.
  • Ability to lift heavy components and thrive in a hands‑on setting.
Nice to have
  • Concrete pump or construction equipment experience.
  • Welding/fabrication background.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance software/programs.
Schedule & pay
  • Monday–Friday, full‑time.
  • $24/hour, DOE.
