The Role at a Glance:

The Brand Manager is a critical member of our marketing team and works closely with the sales team to develop and execute annual brand marketing plans utilizing category, customer, and consumer insights that ensure continuous, profitable growth for our brands and overall business. The Brand Manager supports the strategic direction of our growing national brands (Pete & Gerry’s and Nellie’s Free Range) to drive full funnel behaviors among consumers, including brand loyalty. This role will focus and serve as full portfolio brand owner for the Nellie’s Free Range brand, including shell, hard-boiled, and butter product lines. The Brand Manager should embrace our company mission and culture, act like an owner, and have fun.


How You’ll Create Greater Impact:


Building and executing inspired and impactful brand marketing plans

  • Develop and maintain a robust grasp of target consumers, retail partners, and strategic markets.
  • Work cross functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to understand key customer objectives and operational considerations such as business goals, seasonality, supply, and capacity.
  • Ensure on-time and relevant brand strategy executions to win in the marketplace, including, but not limited to, creative campaigns, media planning, event and partnership marketing, omnichannel activations, etc.
  • In partnership with Marketing leadership, oversee the planning, execution, and post-mortem analysis of integrated marketing campaigns that elevate the brands and engage the target audience.
  • Harness the power of creative storytelling to connect emotionally with consumers and customers and communicate the brands’ unique value proposition.
  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing Team to ensure the “always-on” digital approach is synchronized with our overall brand experience and positioning as well as our broader marketing plan.
  • Develop thoughtful measurement dashboards to track performance of marketing plans and generate insights for mid-course corrections and performance improvement.
  • Recommend brand investment and budget choices, ensuring proper allocation of resources to drive highest returns. Contribute as a key stakeholder in the development of quarterly, in-year updates of the annual marketing budget.
  • Partner with agency partners to ensure they are coordinated and aligned with marketing plans and brand strategies. Guide creative partners on developing powerful and distinctive content that supports brand growth.
  • Maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistent and cohesive brand identity is executed across all touchpoints including packaging, paid/owned/earned media, POS, Sales presentations, etc.
  • Serve as primary owner of the No Kid Hungry partnership, leading day-to-day management and execution of cause marketing initiatives that build brand affinity, drive consumer engagement, and deliver meaningful social impact

Perform analysis and deliver insights (consumer and category) to drive actionable decision making

  • Conduct market analysis and monitor industry trends to identify new opportunities and areas for brand growth. Develop presentation materials that leverage the analysis for strategy implications and go forward recommendations. Proactively synthesize and communicate key insights across company to ensure learnings are incorporated into decision-making, selling stories, consumer targeting, new activations etc.
  • Coordinate with external research and survey partners to execute consumer research according to our objectives and lead insight generation from these studies.
  • Work closely with Category Management team to derive and integrate key insights within and across regions and customer accounts, translating them into tactical, actionable omnichannel plans.
  • Periodically lead marketing special projects related to new growth and innovation opportunities, such as local market activations, packaging innovation, retail customer events, and other timely events.

Build strong relationships with the Sales organization and within the Marketing team

  • Partner with sales organization to understand and evaluate omnichannel executions, such as shopper marketing tactics, incremental displays, on-shelf POS, bundling opportunities, brand partnerships and more.
  • Maintain consistent and regular communication with the sales organization to ensure marketing efforts align in support of key customer initiatives and are leveraged properly and effectively at key retail accounts and regions.
  • Demonstrate team leadership and role model excellent people development practices within Marketing.

  • 5+ years of professional brand management experience. Food/CPG experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field. MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Robust analytics capabilities a must; specifically with syndicated data (Scan + Panel) from IRI/Nielsen/SPINS, etc.
  • Proven track record of delivering against business objectives and/or sales targets.
  • Creative thinker with willingness to push boundaries and try new approaches in bringing brands to life and achieving Marketing’s goals and objectives.
  • Strong data-driven, strategic thinking and analysis, with ability to translate into strategy and actionable insights.
  • Team player with excellent collaboration and top-notch written and verbal communication skills, working seamlessly with cross-functional teams and various levels of management.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A genuine passion for making positive strides forward for animal welfare, small farmers, and the environment, aligning with our B Corp mission.

Work Schedule & Hours:

  • This is a remote role but this role requires the candidate to be within a drivable commuting distance to one of our plants located in Monroe, NH; Salem, NH; Gainesville, GA; Greencastle, PA; Kalona, IA, or Navarre, OH.
