Qualifications of the RN Nurse Manager-Nursing Home:

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Minimum one (1) year nursing experience; long-term care experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to supervise staff across a facility without unit-based management
• Knowledge of NYS and Federal nursing home regulations
• Effective communication and leadership skill

Responsibilities of the Nurse Manager-Nursing Home:

• Orient clinical staff to their job responsibilities and provide leadership in clinical problem solving.
• Nurse will evaluate and schedule in-services/training as needed.
• Ensure department activities and records are in adherence to AAAHC and various licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Provide opportunities for professional development and training to improve nursing skills and knowledge.
• Address staffing concerns, handle disciplinary actions, and mediate conflicts.
