Job Description
A 267-bed hospital in Fort Walton Beach, FL offering an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, a Cancer Care Center, open-heart surgery, a main emergency room, a dedicated pediatric ER, and two freestanding ERs is seeking an ER Manager to join its leadership team.
The role. Reporting within the nursing leadership structure, the ER Manager holds day-to-day accountability for the overall function, staffing, and operational performance of the emergency department. This leader monitors and evaluates the delivery of nursing care against established policies and procedures, holding staff accountable for quality outcomes and clinical performance in alignment with department objectives. The position carries direct responsibility for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care is consistently delivered across the unit.
What we're looking for.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; BSN preferred
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
- 2–3 years of recent Acute Care ER Manager or Supervisor experience (Charge Nurse experience will not qualify)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
Schedule. This is an evening/night-shift position; the current expectation is approximately 7 PM–7 AM, five days per week, with the possibility of transitioning to a more normalized 8–10 hour shift starting anywhere between 4 PM and 7 PM as staffing stabilizes.
Compensation. $100 - $118,000 per year plus Sign On: No Sign on Relocation: Case by Case
