Animal Control Officer

JOB SUMMARYThe Animal Control Officer enforces animal and rabies control ordinances and licensing regulations within the municipality.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent required.Special Requirements:Must be 21 years of age or older. Must possess valid Class "C" Texas driver's license or higher with good driving history.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of local geographic area.Ability to run and chase animals.Ability to work out-of-doors in all types of weather.Ability to work for long periods of time in a smoke-free workplace.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force consistently to move objects.
