Gainesville Empowerment Zone Family Learning Center is looking for an energetic, creative, and dependable Adventure Club Leader to guide our school-age program each afternoon, on no-school days and during breaks.
We're looking for someone who can connect with kids, bring ideas to the table, and create a good balance of fun, structure, and meaningful activities. Think games, outdoor play, creative projects, challenges, enrichment, homework support and plenty of opportunities for kids to simply enjoy being together after a long school day.
What You'll Do
Experience working with school-age children is preferred and may come from summer camps, recreation programs, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, schools, childcare, or other youth programs.
College students studying Education, Family/Youth Sciences, Psychology, Recreation, Social Work, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Florida childcare training and CPR/First Aid are a plus; required training may be completed as applicable to the position.

- Lead engaging games, projects, enrichment activities, and outdoor play
- Bring creativity and energy to weekly Adventure Club themes
- Encourage teamwork, positive friendships, and problem-solving
- Provide homework support and quieter activities when needed
- Maintain clear expectations and a safe, well-managed environment
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Work collaboratively with the GEZFLC team
- You genuinely enjoy working with school-age kids
- You're comfortable taking the lead and keeping a group engaged
- You can be fun while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations
- You're creative, flexible, and dependable
- You're the kind of person who sees downtime and thinks, "We could do something with this."
