Haycon is a Boston-based building company, with an excellent reputation as a leader in sustainable residential construction. Our projects are ground-up construction of 30-50 uni buildings, or rehabs of existing structures that are currently occupied (Deep Energy RetroFits).


We have an excellent opportunity for a Foreman - someone who has skills and experience with hands-on tasks such as carpentry etc., but ALSO has the ability to take on additional responsibilities such as the effective day-to-day oversight of our construction site activities and operations.


Duties might include, but not be limited to:


  • Support the Site Superintendent with all jobsite tasks
  • Be responsible for site opening and/or lock-up
  • Sign site visitors, employees, and contractors in and out of job site
  • Create and maintain relationships with project team including Haycon personnel, Subcontractors, material suppliers, and Haycon project team
  • Schedule, accept, and receive deliveries
  • Keep a detailed daily log of all activity on site and stay in constant communication with the project team
  • Acquire necessary materials and supplies to maintain project timeliness and progress
  • Communicate with building tenants when necessary, as well as being in communication with the Site Superintendent or client representatives


Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record of being extremely dependable and reliable - on time, every day
  • Have current driver's license
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certified preferred
  • Possess construction background in one or more trades
  • Be able for the physical demands of the job – lifting up to 80lbs, climbing ladders, moving comfortably over rough, uneven terrain, ledges, etc.
  • Have the skills to learn new online construction tools like Procore, database, etc.
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Be a good team player and exhibit good moral character
  • Have hands-on ability to clean, build, and maintain a safe worksite (light carpentry or hands-on skills with power tools etc. desirable)
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty, and work in a team environment
