Beloit Health System is looking to add a Ultrasound Technologist II to our Team!Shift: Varied, 8 hours per shiftSchedule: 7a – 12:00aHours per week: 36Benefits Status: EligibleDepartment: UltrasoundThe Ultrasonographer II is responsible for assessments, procedures and care for the patient with medical uses of Ultrasonography.Performs patient assessments, reviews symptoms and explains procedure to performedProvides comfort measures during testingEnsures proper documentation of exam and procedure and maintains accurate patient recordsRecognizes various pathological states and knows how to alter the exam to make an appropriate diagnosisReports abnormalities to the physician reading the study as well as the referring physicianAbility to set up and operate equipment and transducers appropriatelyActively participates in in-service and continuing education programs, maintaining required CEU credits required by ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography)Works effectively with students and is cooperative in teaching the concepts and skills involved in sonographyDemonstrates the ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to positionTakes responsibility for inventory and stocking supplies in assigned areasAssists in aspects of patient care including transportationProvides input for equipment and supply decisionsDetects, reports to supervisor, and contacts repair person for equipment malfunctionsAssumes responsibility for portions of department quality assurance and improvement programPerforms all PACs, clerical, scheduling, and filing functionsPursues continuing educationAssists other departments within Medical ImagingJob RequirementsGraduate of an accredited School of Medical SonographyBoard certification required in two to three areas of specialty which includes but not limited to:VascularAbdomenOB/GYNBreastMusculoskeletalAnnual recertification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is required (ARDMS)Participation in continuing education programsGood written and oral communication skillsMust be CPR certified within three (3) months of hireRequires ability to work independently and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situationsAbility to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to BHS policiesOn call required with reporting for duty within 30 minutesReporting Relationship: Clinical Manager/Director of Medical ImagingMust adhere to established health system and Medical Imaging department policies, rules, and regulationsMaintains ethical conduct and keeps confidential personal and medical information about patientsApply to join our team today!
