We're launching a pioneering nature-based preschool, Sol Playschool, where children learn through play, relationships, and daily interaction with nature. Our approach combines elements of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf philosophies, with a commitment to diversity and bilingual immersion. We seek a Preschool Teacher Director to help build our school and create a learning culture that honors childhood.

Children at Sol Playschool are at the heart of our program, learning in gardens and natural play spaces. We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of child development, a passion for education, and a desire to make a difference in our community.

What You'll Do

  • The Preschool Teacher Director will ensure the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the preschool's care, while also overseeing operational management, curriculum development, staff and facilities management, and budgetary considerations.

  • Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the needs of students and the goals of the preschool are met.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop engaging learning activities, manage state and local regulations, and maintain student records.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, regulatory agencies, and the community, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Oversee all administrative functions, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tuition billing, and human resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the preschool's success, while fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
  • 5 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong finance and budgeting skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills; technology skills.
  • High energy.
