As part of the DFC Manufacturing Group, we combine the agility of a focused finishing operation with the stability and support of a broader national manufacturing platform.POSITION SUMMARYThe Finishing Lead (Folder Gluer / Inkjet Lead) oversees and performs hands-on production work across folding, gluing, inkjet addressing, and related finishing operations. This role is responsible for setting up and running folder gluer and inkjet equipment, leading a small crew, and ensuring jobs are completed accurately, on time, and to customer specifications. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical aptitude with leadership skills and a commitment to quality.WHAT YOU WILL DOSet up, operate, and adjust folder gluer equipment for a variety of folding, gluing, and converting jobsSet up and run inkjet addressing and variable data printing systems accurately and efficientlyLead and coordinate a production crew, assigning tasks, monitoring output, and maintaining workflowRead and interpret job tickets, customer specifications, blueprints, and production schedulesPerform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistencyTroubleshoot mechanical issues, make adjustments, and perform minor repairs to minimize downtimeMonitor material usage and coordinate with warehouse/inventory for stock replenishmentCommunicate with supervisors, customer service, and other departments to clarify job requirements and resolve issuesTrain, mentor, and develop team members on equipment operation, safety, and quality standardsMaintain accurate production records, including job tracking, waste logs, and time reportingEnsure compliance with all safety policies, including PPE requirements and housekeeping standardsSupport die cutting, foil stamping, embossing, and other finishing operations as neededAssist with preventive maintenance schedules and equipment inspectionsIdentify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce wasteParticipate in pre-production planning meetings and contribute to workflow schedulingEnsure proper handling, storage, and labeling of finished goods for shippingMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all timesWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORHigh school diploma or equivalent required3 to 5 years of experience in print finishing, bindery, or converting operations (folder gluer experience strongly preferred)Demonstrated ability to set up and run folder gluer equipment (Bobst, Brausse, or equivalent preferred)Experience with inkjet addressing/variable data systems preferredProven leadership or crew lead experience in a production environmentStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to read and interpret job tickets, blueprints, and customer specificationsProficiency with production tracking systems and basic computer skillsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to qualityStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage priorities under tight deadlinesForklift certification or willingness to obtain preferredWHY LARKINCompetitive pay: $25 to $35 per hour based on experiencePart of a growing national manufacturing network (DFC Manufacturing Group, 18+ locations)Nearly 50 years of print finishing excellence in the Twin CitiesHands-on leadership role with real impact on production and team developmentCross-training opportunities across die cutting, foil stamping, embossing, and moreStable, long-term career in a skilled trade that is always in demandSupportive team environment where your expertise and leadership matterWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSFast-paced manufacturing/production floor environment; PPE requiredProlonged standing on concrete; frequent bending, stooping, and reachingRepetitive hand and arm motions; manual dexterity for equipment setup and adjustmentRegular lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs (with assistance for heavier loads)Exposure to noise, dust, adhesives, and printing-related materials
