Substitute Teacher

Qualifications and responsibilities: Must possess a valid Missouri Professional Teacher and/or Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). You can apply for the substitute certificate through the DESE Website at dese.mo.gov. (Exception: If you are a teacher certified in the state of Missouri you do not need a substitute certificate)Background/Fingerprint check is required.Great organizational skillsExceptional communication skills (written and verbal)Flexibility and ability to work as a team with other teachersAbility to respond quickly and appropriately to the changing needs of students, teachers, parents, and school staff.Essential Functions/Job Duties:Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environmentDeveloping and maintaining positive student, teacher, staff and parent relationshipsMaintaining a high level of energy throughout the entire school dayLeading and facilitating lessons plans and activities for studentsEncouraging and modeling positive and appropriate classroom behaviorMaintaining a positive attitude and safe welcoming classroom environment
