Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) provides day-to-day clinical oversight, supports staffing and clinical operations, and assists with survey readiness and quality initiatives. This role is ideal for a strong nurse leader who can coach teams, drive follow-through, and model professional standards in a fast-paced long-term care environment. As Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will help ensure safe care, strong documentation practices, and consistent clinical expectations across shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Nursing with clinical operations, staffing coordination, and leadership coverage
- Provide on-the-floor coaching, mentoring, and guidance to nurses and STNAs
- Ensure care delivery aligns with facility policies, state/federal regulations, and best practices
- Assist with audits, chart reviews, documentation standards, and quality monitoring
- Participate in care conferences, QAPI initiatives, and incident review/follow-up
- Support survey readiness, plan of correction implementation, and ongoing compliance efforts
- Promote strong communication, teamwork, and professional accountability across departments
- Help ensure proper completion of assessments, orders, treatment documentation, and care plans
Compensation and Schedule
- Schedule: Leadership schedule may include occasional evenings/weekends as needed for support and coverage.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio (in good standing); BSN preferred
- Strong background in nursing administration with prior experience in nursing homes as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).
- Proficient in managing medical records systems and documentation processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Knowledge of acute care practices and the ability to develop effective care plans.
- Excellent shift management capabilities to ensure efficient operations.
- Strong analytical skills for documentation review and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and external stakeholders.
