Immediate opening for an Applications Engineer in Rockledge, FL. who possesses:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, applications engineering, or design engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and CAD models.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes preferred.
- Experience working with an ERP system.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with technical data.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a high-mix, high-variety production environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop concepts, layouts, and preliminary designs for custom aluminum case solutions.
- Review customer requirements and develop practical, manufacturable product solutions.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and accurate quotes for custom products.
- Support quoting, estimating, and concept-costing activities.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and estimating teams to ensure product manufacturability.
- Utilize ERP systems to support quoting and estimating processes.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept through production.
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Present technical concepts and product solutions to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the technical bridge between customers and internal engineering, production, and estimating teams.
- Help ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into effective, manufacturable designs.
