Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Driver to join our team at Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury in Lake Katrine, New York. As a Transport Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to medical appointments, therapy services, and other destinations, while ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities:

• Safely operate facility vehicles requiring a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in accordance with all traffic laws and safety regulations

• Transport residents to medical appointments, therapy services, dialysis, hospital transfers, and community activities as scheduled

• Assist residents entering and exiting vehicles, including wheelchair securement and use of lifts when applicable

• Ensure proper use of seat belts, wheelchair restraints, and safety equipment

• Maintain accurate transportation logs, trip sheets, mileage records, and incident reports

• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident status, schedules, and delays

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of transport vehicles

• Follow infection control, HIPAA, and resident confidentiality policies

• Provide courteous and professional interaction with residents, families, and healthcare providers

• Respond appropriately in emergency situations and follow facility procedures

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements

• Clean driving record meeting facility insurance requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous healthcare or patient transport experience preferred

• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices safely

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
