Location: Naval Medical Center San Diego and surrounding cities, CA Full Time Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (8-hour shifts) Pay: $59.00 – $70.00/hour, based on qualifications, experience, and location

What You'll Do:
Core Duties:
Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures/services as appropriate to the task order Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with Radiology Department policies and procedures Correctly position patients for examinations and make technical adjustments necessary for the required exam; determine if any special patient preparation is required Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists, sending appropriate image series according to MTF protocol Document all procedures, arrivals, departures, and completed tests in accordance with MTF policy Perform system warm-ups, calibrations, and quality control tasks according to manufacturer specifications and MTF/FDA regulations Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel of outlying values Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions, notifying designated Government personnel and the Biomedical Repair Section, and recording the issue in the trouble call logbook Explain the process to patients and assist them in assuming the correct physical position for examination Assist in compiling and archiving procedure records Correlate patient clinical history with the requested examination and obtain results from prior relevant diagnostic tests Consult with staff physicians across specialties (obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, surgery) regarding patient history, preliminary diagnosis, and condition as it relates to the exam Recognize normal anatomic variants as well as anatomic changes resulting from medical or surgical procedures Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms bearing on the patient's condition, including adverse reactions to contrast media, and recognize when emergency resuscitation measures are needed
Additional Duties:
Assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided and stereotactic biopsies, including post-biopsy imaging Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks according to manufacturer and FDA regulations
What You'll Need — Mandatory Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience within the last two years as a Mammography Technologist — this is required
Education: Graduate of an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
Certification: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Life Support Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification
Security: Must be able to pass a government background check/security clearance
