About This Role

Winsted Area Child Care Center is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as early childhood teacher aides. With a focus on Early Childhood Education, we serve children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. Our ideal candidate is flexible and willing to help in all age groups as needed, offering a safe and caring environment that meets the diverse needs of each child.



What You'll Do

  • We strive to maintain State of CT Office of Early Childhood and NAEYC standards, providing a supportive environment for our team to thrive.
  • In a play-based classroom, we work together to implement a daily curriculum that caters to each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
  • We prioritize building trusting relationships with children through respectful, patient, and supportive interactions.
  • Our team is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment that meets the basic needs of our children.
  • Monitoring each child's growth, development, and performance is essential to our approach.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with families is vital to our success.
  • Our team collaborates effectively to ensure a cohesive and supportive work environment.
  • Compliance with center policies and state licensing regulations is crucial, and we maintain accurate records to ensure we meet all requirements.


Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a High School Diploma and be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum of 1 year professional child care experience is required.
  • The ability to work well with others (staff, children, and families) is essential.
  • Maintaining confidentiality is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are key to meeting the needs of our children and program.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills, are necessary.
  • A desire to continue learning through professional development is highly valued.
  • Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening per OEC licensing regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform other physical tasks related to an early childhood environment, including kneeling, bending, squatting, and crawling.


Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with Early Childhood Education credits are highly desirable.
  • Experience in a NAEYC accredited program is a significant asset.
  • Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification is a valuable qualification.
