Winsted Area Child Care Center is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as early childhood teacher aides. With a focus on Early Childhood Education, we serve children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. Our ideal candidate is flexible and willing to help in all age groups as needed, offering a safe and caring environment that meets the diverse needs of each child.
What You'll Do
- We strive to maintain State of CT Office of Early Childhood and NAEYC standards, providing a supportive environment for our team to thrive.
- In a play-based classroom, we work together to implement a daily curriculum that caters to each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
- We prioritize building trusting relationships with children through respectful, patient, and supportive interactions.
- Our team is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment that meets the basic needs of our children.
- Monitoring each child's growth, development, and performance is essential to our approach.
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with families is vital to our success.
- Our team collaborates effectively to ensure a cohesive and supportive work environment.
- Compliance with center policies and state licensing regulations is crucial, and we maintain accurate records to ensure we meet all requirements.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold a High School Diploma and be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum of 1 year professional child care experience is required.
- The ability to work well with others (staff, children, and families) is essential.
- Maintaining confidentiality is a critical aspect of this role.
- Flexibility and adaptability are key to meeting the needs of our children and program.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills, are necessary.
- A desire to continue learning through professional development is highly valued.
- Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening per OEC licensing regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform other physical tasks related to an early childhood environment, including kneeling, bending, squatting, and crawling.
Nice To Haves
- Candidates with Early Childhood Education credits are highly desirable.
- Experience in a NAEYC accredited program is a significant asset.
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification is a valuable qualification.
