Security Position (Part-Time) - Daytime and Evening Shifts Available / Must Be Flexible

Hammond School is an independent pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school located in Columbia, SC. As a member of our part-time exempt security team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall safety and well-being of our school community. From monitoring our premises and controlling access points to responding to emergencies and maintaining order, you will play a vital role in creating a secure environment for our students, staff, and visitors.Specific Duties Include:Site access controlPublic relations and awarenessProviding a visible deterrent against crime by providing site patrol functionsTraffic controlProviding enhanced security during special eventsLock and key controlDetect, mitigate and report unsafe conditionsProviding escort responsibilities as required by site management Required Experience:High school diploma or equivalentMust have 2 - 5 years' experience of providing general site security servicesValid South Carolina driver's licenseMust possess strong observation and attention to detail skillsStrong communication skills Physical and Performance Requirements:Walk and stand for extended periods of timeRespond on foot and vehicle in a timely mannerProvide non-violent interventionAble to lift 25 lbs as well as moving security equipmentAbility to safely operate Hammond owned site vehiclesMonitor security cameras and dispatch security personnel as neededProvide visitors, students and parents with personal direction and informational guidance throughout the standard school day, and during special eventsAbility to provide additional security related duties in accordance with site security proceduresAbility to write accurate and appropriate event and incident reportsComplete a comprehensive Hammond specific security training program A completed application will contain the following materials:Cover letter expressing interest and indicate weekend and/or evening shift availabilityResumeNames of three references and contact informationCertified 10-Year Driving Record The completed application and other required documents should be submitted via the website and will be directed to Monique Thomas, Director of Security and Transportation.
