Recreation Aide/Hallway Monitor
Job Description
Assist with planning and conducting individual and group activities, including games, music, arts and crafts, exercise, social events, and special celebrations
Encourage resident participation while respecting individual abilities, preferences, and limitations
Provide one-on-one activities for residents unable to attend group programs
Assist residents to and from activities, ensuring safety at all times
Observe and report resident responses, behaviors, and participation to the Activities Director
Help decorate common areas for holidays and special events
Maintain activity supplies and equipment in a clean and organized manner
Assist with community outings and special events as assigned
Document participation and attendance as required
Follow infection control, safety policies, and residents’ rights at all times
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in a nursing home, assisted living, or healthcare setting preferred
Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality
Ability to work effectively with elderly residents, including those with cognitive impairments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to assist residents with mobility as needed
Skilled Nursing Facility / Long-Term Care setting
May require evenings, weekends, and holidays based on activity schedule
