\tClient Defense, Space and Security is seeking DSP Algorithms Engineers (Lead or Senior) to join the Space, Intelligence and Weapons Systems teams in El Segundo, CA! Client Space, Intelligence and Weapons Systems oversees the company's major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense, and other missions.
\tAs a DSP Algorithms Engineer, you will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil and/or national security programs. You will actively drive a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.
\tProject assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test. Candidates will belong to or lead a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.
\tPosition Responsibilities:
\tDesigning and developing next generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
\tDeveloping and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms
\tConducting performance analysis of signal processing models
\tPerforming waveform development and characterization
\tPerforming trade studies
\tSupporting integration and test of our payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations
\tSupporting HDL-level design and verification
\tPerforming detailed system design and verification activities
\tLeading teams
\tLeading IR&D activities
\tRequired Skills:
\tBachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
\tExperience in Digital signal processing (DSP) / Digital Communications algorithms and techniques (equalization, turbo/viterbi coding/decoding, channel estimation, filter design, resampling theory, etc.)?
\t3+ years of experience with Matlab or Simulink.
\t5+ years of experience in core digital communications and signal processing theory
\t3+ years of experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design).
\t1+ years of experience working with FPGAs or ASICs.
\tPreferred Skills:
\tExperience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, waveform generator, spectrum analyzer).
\tExperience leading teams of engineers.
\t14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Education / Experience:
\tBachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
