Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH), a long-established and highly respected healthcare provider and Federally Qualified Health Center with locations throughout Indian River County, FL is seeking a Billing/AR Specialist to join our team. The Billing /AR Specialist is to be based at our Administrative office in Vero Beach. This person will work closely with our large in-house revenue team in identifying, resolving and sharing information regarding payer trends, guidelines and updates. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, preparing claims, posting charges and payments, and assisting in projects relating to the medical revenue cycle. Qualifications include an understanding of payer, HIPAA and PHI guidelines, and familiarity with medical terminology and medical insurance, CPT, ICD-10 and CDT codes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:Preparing claims for submission to insurance companies according to the payer's guidelines, posting charges and payments to accounts and assisting in projects related to the medical revenue cycle.Good time management and have excellent computer and software skills, pay attention to detail and possess general math skills.Able to work closely with staff to identify, resolve, and share information regarding payer trends, guidelines and any new updates.It is also good to be able to multitask, prioritize, and solve any problems.Understand payer guidelines, HIPAA and PHI guidelines, and have excellent customer service skills.Should be familiar with medical terminology and medical insurance CPT, ICD-10 and CDT codes.Additional Responsibilities may include:verifying patients' insurance coveragehandling collections and unpaid accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients, monitoring payments, and following up with patients if or when there is a lapse in paymentworking directly with the insurance company, the patient, and the healthcare provider, to get a claim processed and ultimately paidreviewing and appealing denied, underpaid and unpaid claimsanswering any questions patients may have about billingknowledge of insurance guidelines especially Medicaid and Medicarecall insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments, if necessarysubmit secondary billing in a timely manner with appropriate supporting documentationreview patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing informationmanages the bill queue on a daily basisverifying pre-coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companieshandling collections on unpaid accountsassist Billing Supervisor or Billing Team Lead with other daily job functions as necessaryQualifications:Proficient with computers, and preferably in Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management platformsMust be comfortable with process improvement and changeStrong organization and process management skillsStrong collaboration and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communications killsAbility to learn new tasks and conceptsPrefer two years prior medical billing experienceCPC, CPC-A, CPB, CRC Coding Certification and/or Clinical Documentation Certification a plus Education and/or Experience:One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly preferred.
