Cell Lead - Direct Hire
Job Description
We are a leading medical device manufacturer specializing in high-quality molded products that improve patient outcomes worldwide. We are seeking experienced and motivated Cell Lead II professionals to join our production team. This role is ideal for individuals with prior people leadership experience who are ready to take on a hands-on leadership position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The Cell Lead II serves as a frontline leader responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations while directly supervising team members. This position is designed to help reduce supervisor workload by managing employee performance, engagement, and day-to-day personnel matters. The role combines production leadership with employee management responsibilities, making it ideal for experienced line leads, team leads, or supervisors.
Candidates must have previous experience leading employees with direct reporting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support production employees to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Handle employee disciplinary actions, verbal counseling, and performance improvement discussions when necessary.
- Manage attendance, employee engagement, and daily workforce issues.
- Coordinate staffing and workflow to meet production requirements.
- Train and develop team members to improve performance and capabilities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees during assigned shifts.
- Partner with supervisors and operations leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and medical device manufacturing regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with direct reports in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Experience conducting employee evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage employee performance and accountability.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and production metrics.
- Previous supervisory experience in medical device manufacturing, plastics, molding, stamping, or related industries.
- Experience leading production teams in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
Compensation
- Pay Range: $24.66 - $30.19 per hour
- Candidates with proven supervisor experience and a strong history of managing direct reports may be considered near the top of the pay range.
- Ideal candidates will typically fall within the middle of the range based on experience and qualifications.
Benefits
- Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines.
