Mechanical Project Manager
Job Description
Midwest Plumbing LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial mechanical and plumbing projects. This position is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, technical requirements, procurement activities, and field coordination from project initiation through final completion.
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical construction, engineering, or construction management and demonstrate the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders while maintaining project quality, schedule, and financial performance.
Primary Responsibilities- Managing commercial mechanical and plumbing projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scopes.
- Developing project schedules, budgets, work plans, and milestone requirements.
- Coordinating activities between field personnel, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
- Monitoring project costs, labor productivity, material expenditures, and overall financial performance.
- Coordinating procurement of mechanical equipment, plumbing materials, and project-specific components.
- Reviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other technical project documentation.
- Identifying potential design, scheduling, procurement, or field conflicts and coordinating appropriate resolutions.
- Conducting project meetings and communicating progress to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Supporting field supervisors and project teams with technical and operational requirements.
- Monitoring project quality and ensuring work complies with drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and contractual requirements.
- Managing project documentation, cost reports, forecasts, and completion records.
- Supporting project closeout, inspections, commissioning activities, and final documentation.
- Maintaining productive relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Building Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of four years of experience in mechanical construction, plumbing construction, engineering, or project management.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating commercial construction projects.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, and documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
- Commercial plumbing or mechanical contracting.
