Location: LifeSpring Recovery of Andover – Andover, KS

Status: Full-Time
Reports To: Clinical Director
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM; weekend rotation/support as facility needs grow

About the Role

The Clinical Therapist is a behavioral health professional responsible for delivering individual, group, and family therapy services within a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented treatment environment.


This role includes conducting diagnostic assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, coordinating care, and maintaining high-quality clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, accreditation, and payer requirements. The Clinical Therapist serves as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and supports client safety, stabilization, and long-term recovery outcomes.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Treatment

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk screenings in accordance with DSM-5 and state regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans aligned with ASAM criteria and client needs.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and other clinically appropriate interventions.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups that support recovery and treatment goals.
  • Respond to clinical crises in accordance with facility policy and best practices.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete all clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Maintain treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other clinical records in compliance with Medicaid, commercial payer, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure documentation reflects trauma-informed, person-centered care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and applicable regulations.

Care Coordination & Collaboration

  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, case management, and recovery support staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Communicate with referral sources, family members, and community partners as clinically appropriate.
  • Support discharge planning and continuity of care efforts.

Professional Practice & Development

  • Maintain active licensure and professional credentials.
  • Complete required continuing education and annual training requirements.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, and performance evaluation processes as applicable.
  • Contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and organizational growth.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Eligible for or willing to obtain a provisional clinical license in the State of Kansas.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted independent clinical license (LCPC, LPC, LMLP, LCSW, LSCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, or equivalent).
  • Addiction counseling certification or substance use disorder treatment experience.
  • Experience working in residential treatment, detoxification, or ASAM Levels 3.5 and 3.7 programs.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation requirements.
  • Training in trauma-informed care, culturally responsive treatment, or specialty behavioral health interventions.
