Technical Service Team Lead -- Lean & Continuous Improvement

Role Snapshot- Lead daily operations: Run performance huddles, conduct Gemba walks, and use root-cause problem solving to sustain leader standard work.
- Own service flow: Dispatch and manage work orders; cross-level jobs between shop and field techs; visit customer sites and follow up on field quality.
- Drive results: Track safety, quality, delivery, and cost; escalate obstacles to the Service Manager or central support to maintain momentum.
- Ensure compliance and readiness: Approve timesheets/work orders; keep service and parts records accurate; maintain van appearance and inventory targets.
- Execute PM excellence: Lead the preventive maintenance program to company completion standards.
- Develop the team: Conduct reviews; coach and train; manage promotions, salary actions, terminations, and disciplinary steps; shape technician career paths and staffing levels.
- Champion the tech voice: Aggregate feedback to remove roadblocks at critical service touchpoints.
Other duties as assigned.
SupervisionThis position carries full supervisory responsibility for service technicians across shop and field operations.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree preferred; 2–4 years’ related leadership experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
- Proven people leadership and results orientation; excellent communication, listening, and presentation abilities.
- Comfort working through practical problems with varied, concrete variables.
- Material handling or similar service-industry experience preferred.
- Lean/continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to learn Salesforce, SAP, and ServiceMax
- Regularly: stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach, talk, and hear
- Frequently: sit and move/lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds
- Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts/equipment
- Occasional exposure to heights; fumes/airborne particles; outdoor weather; vibration
- Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions; toxic/caustic chemicals; extreme cold/heat; electrical shock risk
- Noise levels may be loud at times
