Job Description Position: Calibration
Pay range: $25-28 hour
Summary/Purpose: Under General Guidance, the Calibration Technician will monitor machinery and tools used in production and in quality testing in order to maintain product quality standards and ensure accurate readings and measurements.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, improve and maintain calibration system.
- Responsible for maintaining accuracy of machinery and tools that produce readings of temperature, size, weight and other measurements.
- Determine methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments, while operating within specific policies.
- Ability to troubleshoot new and/or existing equipment, tooling and processes, recommend improvements and execute corrective action.
- Accurately complete forms, requisitions and lot traceability documentation.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with Production, Quality and Engineering.
- Perform equipment Lock Out-Tag Out as required during equipment repairs.
- Promptly complete all Preventative Maintenance (PM) related documentation and enter data into computer.
- Maintain and improve on PM system and corresponding schedule.
- Perform daily maintenance on facility as needed.
- Organize and dispose of waste materials as needed to reduce warehouse clutter.
- Train co-workers in new and existing processes and/or tooling.
- Follow procedures and safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain workplace in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
- Ability to work independently to perform daily operation tasks.
- Perform special projects or additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Marginal Functions:
- Participate in other work functions as directed.
- Support Facilities with manual labor associated with the daily cleaning and maintenance of facility and related grounds.

- While performing the duties of this job
- The employee is frequently required to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time while typing and using a mouse or other curser controlling device.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- The employee is frequently required to reach with hands or arms, and talk and hear.
- The employee frequently will use either one or both hands to firmly grasp, push and/or pull
- The employee will occasionally reach overhead to grasp objects and lift or carry up to 60 pounds.
- It will be necessary to be around equipment and machinery and work in a laboratory, machine shop, maintenance shop, and cleanroom environment.
- Normal 20/20 vision ability (with corrective lenses, if needed) is required
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required Skills:
- Manual dexterity required
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools as well as relevant laboratory and maintenance equipment such as drills, saws, sanders, presses, ovens scales mixers and calipers.
- Ability to read, understand and accurately complete documentation in English.
- Ability to take notes in English.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in English, and present information in one-on-one situations to other personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as calibration, maintenance, safety procedures and equipment manuals.
- Ability to complete forms accurately.
- Ability to function in a controlled environment regulated by FDA GMPs and ISO guidelines.
- Ability to be flexible in changing daily workload priorities as directed.
- Ability to accurately perform detail oriented work within a laboratory, maintenance shop and cleanroom environments.
- Ability to maintain accuracy, consistency and quality in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American and metric measurement.
Computer: Must possess computer skills (Windows platform) Microsoft Office programs. Must be proficient in Word, and Excel. Ability to learn various software programs.
Experience: Prior experience in a previous technical/mechanical position desired. Training: Training requirements for this position are called out in the Required Employee Training Matrix.
