Overview:
As Director of Nursing at Atlantic Surgery Center, you will serve as a vital leader designated by the Governing Board to drive clinical excellence, patient care, and regulatory mastery across our facility. Responsibilities:
  • Assumes full responsibility for all aspects of the surgery center including Pre-Op, PACU, OR, SPD, and Clerical services, reporting directly to the ASC Administrator.
  • Oversees the Quality Improvement and Risk Management Program while continuously developing, maintaining, and reviewing clinical policies, procedures, and quality assurance goals.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates high-quality patient care from admission to discharge.
  • Provides clear, concise direction to staff, sets clinical priorities, and maintains efficient, safe staffing schedules in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Interviews, selects, retains, and engages qualified staff while providing ongoing teaching, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Fosters a positive, professional facility culture by communicating effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians in a considerate and courteous manner.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all regulatory compliance requirements and upholds the principles and policies of Atlantic Surgery Center.
  • Designates a Registered Nurse as Charge Nurse in the event of an absence, and assumes key administrative responsibilities when the ASC Administrator is unavailable.

Facility Description:
The award-winning Atlantic Surgery Center (ASC) is a busy single–operating room (OR) outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center specializing in ophthalmic procedures, including cataract, corneal, and oculoplastic surgery. Due to continued growth, the center is expanding to a two-OR facility within the next year.

Qualifications:
  • Experienced in Accreditation process and Regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge in Nursing Principles, Practice and Procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and problem solve under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate well with patients, families, staff and physicians.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Active NJ Registered Nurse license.
  • Three years of nursing and management experience in a hospital setting or ambulatory surgery center.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification. PALS certification where necessary.
