Job Description
Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The ED RN will assess, prioritize, and treat patients of all ages with a wide range of medical emergencies while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Candidates must be comfortable working in a Level III Trauma and Level II Stroke Center, floating to other units as needed, and delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
Requirements:
Active RN license in the state of practice or Compact License (if applicable)
Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred (18 months may be considered)
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
Experience caring for trauma, stroke, and emergency patients of all ages
Strong critical thinking, assessment, communication, and emergency response skills
Willingness to float to other units as required
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care using triage principles
Provide emergency nursing care for trauma, medical, surgical, and critical patients
Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions according to physician orders and facility protocols
Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in clinical status
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the healthcare team to coordinate patient care
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
Float to other patient care units as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
