Position Summary
The Shake & Beverage Specialist is responsible for preparing and serving specialty shakes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and other menu items in a fast-paced, quick-service restaurant environment. This role focuses on consistent beverage preparation, quality, speed, cleanliness, responsible alcohol service, and exceptional guest service.
This is not a traditional cocktail bartending position. The Shake & Beverage Specialist follows established recipes and preparation standards rather than creating craft cocktails or performing traditional mixology.
- Prepare specialty shakes, alcoholic shakes, and other beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Accurately follow recipes, portion sizes, and preparation procedures to ensure consistency.
- Prepare both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable service to guests.
- Take beverage orders and ensure orders are prepared accurately and promptly.
- Verify guest identification and age when required before serving alcohol.
- Follow all federal, state, and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
- Maintain awareness of responsible alcohol service practices and notify management of any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked beverage station.
- Restock ingredients, cups, lids, straws, garnishes, alcohol, and other supplies as needed.
- Monitor product levels and communicate shortages or inventory concerns to management.
- Operate beverage equipment, blenders, mixers, and other tools safely and properly.
- Maintain proper sanitation and food-safety standards throughout the shift.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas according to company standards.
- Assist with other front-of-house duties as needed, including order taking, running food, guest service, and general restaurant cleanliness.
- Process guest transactions accurately when applicable.
- Work efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining quality and guest-service standards.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
The Shake & Beverage Specialist is expected to:
- Create a welcoming and positive experience for every guest.
- Be friendly, energetic, and approachable.
- Have knowledge of the beverage menu and be able to answer guest questions.
- Make recommendations when appropriate.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and involve management when necessary.
- Maintain a sense of urgency without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
- Previous restaurant, beverage, cashier, or customer-service experience preferred but not required.
- Previous bartending or mixology experience is not required.
- Must be comfortable working with and serving alcohol.
- Must meet all applicable legal requirements for alcohol service.
- Ability to learn and consistently follow recipes and procedures.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize during high-volume periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, and move throughout the restaurant.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to approximately 30–50 pounds, as needed.
- Ability to safely operate blenders and other beverage equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.

- Frequent interaction with guests and team members.
- May be exposed to loud noise, wet floors, temperature changes, and cleaning chemicals.
