Gauge/Calibration Technician
Responsibilities
This off-shift position, located in Muskegon County, MI, is responsible for performing receiving and periodic inspection of gauges and fixtures used in manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and repeatability against customer part designs.
Pay: $27.75/hr

Job Roles
- Perspective – Understands gauge and fixture requirements relative to customer part designs; identifies discrepancies and inspection needs.
- People support – Works collaboratively with other layout personnel on cooperative projects.
- Coordination – Coordinates with the tool room and manufacturing to keep gauges and fixtures in working order.
- Influence – Communicates gauge issues and repair needs clearly to support timely resolution.
- Organization and structure – Writes tool room work orders and maintains organized inspection records.
- Communication and relationship – Builds effective working relationships with manufacturing and tool room personnel.
- Ownership – Takes accountability for accuracy and reliability of gauges and fixtures used across manufacturing.
- Troubleshooting – Analyzes and troubleshoots pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical production gauges.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs receiving inspection on new gauges and fixtures for accuracy and repeatability.
- Correlates gauges and fixtures to customer part designs.
- Performs periodic inspection of gauges and fixtures used by manufacturing.
- Analyzes and troubleshoots pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical production gauges.
- Writes tool room work orders for gauge repair.
- Works with other layout personnel on cooperative projects.
- Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
- Operates computer and software systems for dimensional gauge inspection.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Two years of continuous work history, or 6 months of manufacturing experience post-high school.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Effective math skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to learn and understand complex blueprints and gauges.
- Detail-oriented, with hands-on experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and similar measurement tools.
- Computer literacy, with emphasis on AutoCAD or similar software a plus.
