Human Resources Director

Job Summary

A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources department. This position is responsible for ensuring legal compliance, supporting organizational objectives, and aligning talent strategies with the company's mission and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand organizational goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention, and workforce planning.

  • Plan, develop, and implement HR policies, procedures, and training programs that support compliance and company objectives.

  • Oversee HR programs including compensation, benefits, employee relations, investigations, performance management, recognition, safety, and training.

  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.

  • Manage HR staff, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance recommendations.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and technology, and communicate updates to leadership.

  • Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.

  • Partner with operational leaders to support employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture initiatives.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources management experience required.

  • Healthcare, long-term care, post-acute care, or multi-site healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS/talent management systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
