Engineering Intern
Job Description
Position Overview:
As an Engineering Intern, you will support our engineering team with critical data management and design documentation initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in engineering processes, CAD documentation, technical data migration, and product lifecycle management while working alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related technical field and possesses strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and an interest in engineering documentation and product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering data migration projects between legacy and current systems.
- Review, organize, validate, and transfer engineering data, drawings, part files, and related documentation.
- Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies within engineering databases and document repositories.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to verify migrated information.
- Update engineering drawings, assemblies, and documentation using CAD software.
- Revise drawings to reflect engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Verify drawing accuracy, dimensions, tolerances, bill of materials (BOMs), and revision histories.
- Assist engineers with product development, documentation, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support the creation and maintenance of bills of materials and part master data.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and project reviews as needed.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
Desired Skills
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with product data management (PDM), document control, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of engineering change management processes.
