Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Med Surg/Tele)

**Job Summary:**
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry setting. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care while administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The RN promotes patient safety, maintains accurate documentation, and delivers care in accordance with established clinical standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.

**Job Requirements:**

**Education and Experience:**

* Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
* Minimum of one to two years of recent Registered Nurse experience in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Acute Care settings preferred.
* Experience caring for a diverse patient population in a hospital setting preferred.

**Licenses/Certifications:**

* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or Compact RN License.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required based on facility policy.

**Essential Functions:**

* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
* Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
* Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
* Perform comprehensive patient assessments and maintain ongoing evaluation of patient progress.
* Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate and optimize patient care.
* Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge planning, and health maintenance.
* Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
* Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
* Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and quality improvement standards.
* Float to other patient care units as assigned and within competency.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
