Job Summary

Long Island Hebrew Academy (LIHA), a vibrant Yeshiva day school serving grades Toddler through grade 8 in Great Neck, New York, is seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary School Morah to join our dynamic team. As a leading institution in the heart of the Jewish community, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and love for Jewish heritage.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Chumash with basic mefarshim skills (age-appropriate)

  • Teach Parsha with connection to real-life application

  • Teach Tefillah with fluency and understanding

  • Introduce foundational Halacha concepts

  • Prepare students for Chagim with meaningful projects and learning

  • Develop Hebrew reading fluency and comprehension

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, incorporating innovative teaching methods and technology to ensure student success

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum that reflects the diversity of our Sephardic community

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social-emotional learning and character development

  • Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues to ensure open and transparent communication

  • Participate in school-wide events and activities, celebrating holidays and traditions
