Fixed Route DriverDepartment: Tribal ProgramsProgram: TransportationReports to: Transportation SupervisorEmployment Status: Full TimeFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: 40 Hours/52 WeeksPreference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the Fixed Route Driver is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of passengers through the operation of a public transportation vehicle. The Transit Driver will follow a planned bus route, making scheduled stops to pick up or drop off passengers, collect fares and answer questions about the bus route. Communicates with the dispatcher during the route; provides updates to the dispatcher and reports emergencies, traffic patterns, incidents or accidents.Essential FunctionsCompletes pre and post-trip bus inspections and prepares reports at the end of shiftObey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulationsSafely complete bus route on schedulePick up and drop off passengers at designated locationsAssist the disabled and elderly with embarking and disembarking as neededAssist with stowing luggage and bicyclesMaintain a clean and sanitary bus at all timesImmediately reports any mechanical issues with the bus such as brakes, steering, electrical, etc.Performs other related duties as assignedEnsures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinanceIt is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list.
