Our client seeks a Technical Business Analyst with Appian platform experience and strong data skills. The analyst will translate business needs into requirements, partner with developers, and support process automation and workflow optimization across a portfolio that includes finance, digital, operations, and HR applications. The role will own multiple applications, manage a prioritized backlog, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, data-informed solutions.

Responsibilities:- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements across sales, marketing, and operations.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Appian solutions.
- Collaborate with Appian developers on workflows, process models, and business rules.
- Create and maintain process documentation, data flow diagrams, and system architecture artifacts.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, sprint planning, and stakeholder reviews.
- Perform gap analysis between current processes and proposed Appian solutions.
- Support UAT planning and execution to ensure solutions meet expectations.
- Coordinate with Salesforce, UX, Operations, and data engineering for integrations.
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities using Appian.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog with product owners.
- Provide ongoing support for deployed Appian applications, including troubleshooting and enhancements.
- Evaluate, configure, and optimize low-code platform capabilities.
- Assess platform feasibility and recommend build versus configure approaches.
- Define and enforce platform standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
- Stay current on Appian releases, features, and community best practices.
- Manage platform licensing, user provisioning, and access controls.
- Document platform architecture, integration patterns, and deployment procedures.
- Analyze and map data flows across Appian, Salesforce, and third-party vendors.
- Define data models, schemas, and entity relationships.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and quality assessments.
- Design and document ETL and data integration processes.
- Collaborate on data enrichment pipelines and lead scoring models.
- Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Conduct root cause analysis on data discrepancies and system issues.
- Support API integration design with payload documentation and mappings.
- Validate data migration during transitions or upgrades.
- Identify trends in operational data to drive improvements.
- 3+ years as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role.
- 2+ years hands-on with Appian, including process modeling, records, reports, and integrations.
- Strong understanding of BPM and workflow automation.
- Experience writing user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques.
- Experience with data modeling, data mapping, and ETL concepts.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and produce recommendations.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar tools.
- Preferred: Appian Certified Business Analyst or Associate Developer.
- Preferred: Experience with Salesforce integrations and CRM platforms.
- Preferred: Familiarity with data warehousing and cloud data platforms.
- Preferred: Experience with API integrations, REST/SOAP, and data enrichment workflows.
- Preferred: Familiarity with UX/UI principles and wireframing tools such as Figma or Sketch.
- Preferred: Background in sales operations, marketing automation, or demand generation.
- Preferred: Experience with SSO, identity management, and enterprise security concepts.
- Soft skills: Analytical problem solving, priority management, attention to detail, self-starter, effective presenter and facilitator.
