CMM Programmer

Responsibilities
This off-shift position, located in Muskegon County, MI, is responsible for writing programs for periodic and first article inspections and performing multi-piece part and die inspections using DCC Coordinate Measuring Machines and Vision Systems. Permanent off-shift hours are flexible to 2nd, 3rd, or weekend crew.

Pay: Up to $35/hr
Openings: Off-shift opening

Job Roles
  • Perspective – Understands part designs and inspection requirements; identifies the right programming approach for periodic and first article inspections.
  • People support – Assists in training manufacturing CMM operators to build capability across the team.
  • Coordination – Works across manufacturing and engineering to schedule and complete inspections without disrupting production.
  • Influence – Shares CMM programming knowledge and troubleshooting insight with operators and other technical staff.
  • Organization and structure – Writes and maintains organized inspection programs for repeatable, accurate results.
  • Communication and relationship – Communicates clearly with manufacturing personnel and operators regarding inspection findings and machine status.
  • Ownership – Takes accountability for accuracy of part and die inspections and reliability of CMM equipment.
  • Troubleshooting – Performs general troubleshooting of CMM machine issues in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Writes programs for periodic and first article inspections.
  • Performs multi-piece part and die inspections using DCC Coordinate Measuring Machines and Vision Systems.
  • Performs general troubleshooting of CMM machine issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Assists in training manufacturing CMM operators.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three years of general dimensional inspection experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience in general dimensional inspection including GD&T, with programming experience in PC-DMIS or Calypso.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to understand blueprints and geometric tolerancing/dimensioning practices.
  • Computer literacy, with emphasis on CMM type software.
  • Familiarity with the operation and general troubleshooting of Coordinate Measuring Machines.
