Position Overview

The Storeroom Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse and storeroom operations by receiving, stocking, picking, packing, verifying, and preparing materials for shipment. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, basic computer skills, and the ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team.

This is a temp-to-hire position with an increase in pay upon conversion to regular employment. Once converted, employees will participate in an on-call weekend rotation.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Occasional overtime may be required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and unload incoming materials, merchandise, and supplies.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage, quantity discrepancies, and accuracy against receiving documentation.
  • Sort, label, stock, and organize materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to established inventory locations and product codes.
  • Pick and pack customer orders accurately using paper or electronic pick documentation.
  • Cross-check completed orders to verify correct products and quantities prior to shipment.
  • Prepare outgoing orders for shipment, including palletizing, securing, and staging materials as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks while following established material-handling and safety procedures.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Training may be provided.
  • Enter and update inventory, receiving, and shipping information in computerized systems.
  • Document inventory or shipment discrepancies and communicate issues to management.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
  • Maintain organized and efficient storage areas to maximize available warehouse space.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of warehouse, storeroom, distribution, or related experience and/or training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Experience with receiving, picking, packing, stocking, shipping, or material handling.
  • Forklift and/or cherry picker experience preferred; willingness and ability to complete equipment training and certification required.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory or warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, safety instructions, procedures, and other operational documentation.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and quantities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 pounds; heavier items may require assistance.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment as required.
  • Steel-toe shoes are required. Additional required personal protective equipment will be provided.
  • Shorts are permitted provided they have belt loops and meet site safety requirements.
  • The warehouse is not temperature controlled and may become hot during summer months.
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on operational needs.
  • Following conversion to regular employment, participation in an on-call weekend rotation will be required.
