EXPERIENCED BARISTAS WANTED

FULL-TIME & PART-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE

We’re looking for experienced baristas who understand the craft and process behind producing great espresso-based drinks, while also being capable of opening, operating and closing a busy coffee shop.

☕ BARISTA & ESPRESSO SKILLS REQUIRED

Applicants should understand:

• How to dial in an espresso grinder and make adjustments throughout the shift
• Correct grind size, dose, distribution and tamping
• How extraction time affects the taste and quality of espresso
• How to recognize and correct under-extracted or over-extracted espresso
• How to consistently pull a balanced espresso shot
• Proper milk steaming and texturing techniques
• Creating the correct milk texture for different espresso-based drinks
• The difference between a latte, cappuccino, flat white, cortado, macchiato and Americano
• Correct espresso-to-milk ratios and drink presentation
• How to sequence multiple drink orders efficiently during busy periods
• Keeping the espresso machine, steam wands, grinders and work area clean throughout service
• Maintaining consistency so customers receive the same high-quality drink every visit

OPENING & CLOSING EXPERIENCE

• Experience opening a coffee shop and preparing the espresso bar for service
• Setting up and checking espresso machines, grinders, registers, milk and supplies
• Preparing the shop so it is completely ready when the doors open
• Experience closing a coffee shop
• Properly cleaning and breaking down espresso equipment
• Restocking and preparing the shop for the following morning
• Leaving the bar and customer areas clean, organized and ready for the next shift

WHAT WE EXPECT

• Genuine previous barista experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for a shift
• Reliable and punctual
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods
• Willingness to follow Cuppacoffee recipes, procedures and standards
• Weekend availability is required

COMPENSATION

$22–$30 PER HOUR INCLUDING TIPS
Based on experience and performance.

We’re looking for people who understand that being a professional barista isn't simply pushing a button and pouring milk. Great espresso is a craft — from dialing in the grinder and extracting the shot to correctly texturing the milk and presenting the finished drink.
