Job DescriptionJob Title: ServerStatus: Hourly Reports To: Director of Food and BeveragePurpose: Responsible for bringing food and beverages to dine-in customers seated in their section. Duties include writing down and submitting special food needs to the kitchen, taking drink orders and submitting them to the bar, and bringing out correct dishes and beverages to each diner.Position Responsibilities:Write down and submit drink orders accurately.Deliver food in a timely manner assuring temperatures are correct and food is plated according to standard consistency.Communicate with the kitchen staff to ensure special dietary needs are met.Memorize the correct standard menu as well as vegan and gluten free menusClear and sanitize tables and bus all items to kitchenKeep section clean and dry at all timesReset tables as directed making certain that all condiment containers are full and freshEnsure all plateware, cooking utensils, condiments, tables, and chair surfaces are cleaned and prepped properlyAccomplish tasks as scheduledReport any damaged items and equipment malfunctions promptly to direct supervisorMay empty and clear garbage bins and breakdown boxesPosition Requirements:Prior experience in a food-serving establishment preferredSafe Serve certification & WI ABC card preferred. If no card and certification, course will have to be completed on property before starting workExcellent written and oral communication skills; highly developed interpersonal skillsBasic math skillsWorking knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferredProficient working knowledge of computers, smart phones, and appsHigh level of staminaWorks with integrity, ethics, and honesty. Clearly distinguishes between right and wrong.As a professional, follows through on commitments, accepts responsibility for own actions, approaches others in a tactful manner and reacts well under pressure.Maintain excellent appearance, hygiene, and dressEducation / Experience:High school diploma or associate degree in culinary studies or food and hospitality management preferredPrevious experience as a server preferred but not required.Able to work independently; shows initiative.Essential Functions:Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands dexterously and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb and descend stairs, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on their own. This position requires continuous ability to remember information and verbally communicate clearly.
