Controller
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations for a healthcare organization. This role will oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, reimbursement, compliance, and financial analysis while partnering closely with executive leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, budgeting, and cost management.
Oversee annual budgets, including operating, capital, and salary expenses, and support departments with budget development.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, performance metrics, forecasts, and other information for senior leadership.
Oversee cost accounting and reimbursement activities, including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers.
Manage preparation of regulatory and institutional cost reports and ensure compliance with applicable financial requirements.
Supervise and develop finance and accounting staff, promoting efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, audit requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations.
Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial trends and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
Improve financial processes, systems, reporting, and departmental performance.
Lead or support financial studies, special projects, and other initiatives as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
3–5+ years of healthcare/hospital finance experience, including supervisory or management experience.
Strong knowledge of healthcare accounting, budgeting, reimbursement, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
Experience with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and healthcare regulatory reporting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, reconciliations, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
Familiarity with financial, billing, and accounting systems.
Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle, charge master, regulatory reporting, and debt management preferred.
Strong analytical, leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
