About This Role

The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in supporting our teaching team and creating a nurturing environment for children. This includes assisting in daily activities, fostering positive relationships with children and parents, and helping to maintain a safe and engaging classroom setting. The successful candidate will be a team player, able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues.



What You'll Do

  • Participate in the development and implementation of engaging curriculum activities that encourage children's participation and exploration.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining a tidy and well-organized classroom environment, ensuring that all materials are easily accessible and in good condition.
  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular updates and progress reports, providing a clear and accurate picture of their child's development and experiences.
  • Model positive behavior and values, promoting self-help and good hygiene among the children.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from home to child care, providing a calm and welcoming environment for children.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations, contributing to a safe and compliant environment.
  • Establish and maintain a personal professional development plan, staying up-to-date with best practices and advancements in early childhood education.


Requirements

  • Must pass health screening.
  • Must be willing to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or currently enrolled in college.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.


Nice To Haves

  • Experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.
