We are seeking a highly skilled GM Dealer Drivability Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will act as our premier diagnostic specialist, troubleshooting complex engine performance, advanced electrical, and emission-related issues. You will utilize GM factory-specific software and strategy-based diagnostic processes to ensure accurate, first-time fixes for our customers. Core Responsibilities Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize GM-specific tools (GDS2, Tech 2, MDI 2) and service information (SI) to isolate root causes of complex electrical, drivability, and emissions issues. System Repairs: Repair and replace components in fuel injection, ignition, computer-controlled electronics, multiplexing/data bus, and powertrain systems. Road Testing: Perform target-driven road tests to duplicate customer complaints and verify that repairs completely resolve the issue. Technical Compliance: Monitor and apply GM Service Technical Bulletins (TBs), recalls, and campaign updates to relevant repairs. Documentation & Communication: Clearly document diagnostic steps, test results, and repair recommendations on the repair order. Communicate clearly with Service Advisors. Shop Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Adhere to all dealership and OSHA safety protocols.

Job Requirement:Required Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of automotive diagnostic experience, preferably within a GM dealership environment. ASE Certifications: Current ASE certifications required, with a strong emphasis on A6 (Electrical/Electronic Systems) and A8 (Engine Performance). L1 (Advanced Engine Performance) is highly preferred. GM Training: Active GM Factory Training credentials or a verifiable GM training record is heavily prioritized. Tools: Ownership of a comprehensive set of diagnostic tools and standard automotive hand tools. Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record.
