Job Description

Inventory Control & Production Planning Specialist
Salary: $31.00 - $36.00 hourly ($65,000 - $75,000 annually), depending on experience and qualifications.
Location: Fallsington, Pennsylvania

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized Inventory Control & Production Planning Specialist to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory throughout our meat production operation. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with production and warehouse personnel on the plant floor to verify that physical inventory matches system transactions, manage Bills of Materials (BOM), and resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records for raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished products. Ensure materials are accurately scanned and issued to correct batches.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile production transactions with physical inventory, investigate discrepancies, and track yields, waste, and variances.
  • BOM Management: Maintain accurate Bills of Materials, ensuring they reflect current recipes, packaging, and production requirements.
  • Production Planning: Assist in planning based on customer orders and capacity, ensuring batches are set up and materials are properly allocated.
  • Plant Floor Presence: Spend significant time on the production floor performing cycle counts, verifying product movements, and working with staff to correct scanning issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Track inventory adjustments, recommend process improvements, and train employees on proper procedures. Qualifications
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, accounting, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Ability to understand how physical inventory movements translate into ERP/accounting system transactions.
  • Comfortable spending significant time on the plant floor working directly with production employees.
  • Experience in inventory control, manufacturing accounting, or ERP systems.
  • Experience working with BOMs, production batches, and cycle counts.
  • Preferred: Experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • The ideal candidate is an accounting-minded professional who understands that accurate inventory cannot be managed entirely from a computer. You must be a self-directed problem solver with a "trust but verify" mindset—using system data as a starting point while actively confirming physical inventory on the floor.
