KEEP AIRPORT OPERATIONS MOVING

Our client is seeking an experienced Inventory / Parts Specialist to support maintenance and repair operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

This is a hands-on role combining inventory control, purchasing, parts coordination, vendor communication, receiving, CMMS data entry, material handling, and equipment operation. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in parts, materials, purchasing, warehouse operations, or inventory control and is comfortable working in a fast-paced airport environment.

This position also involves significant physical activity. Candidates must be comfortable lifting and moving items weighing 50-75 pounds and working around vehicles, equipment, and active airport operations.

SCHEDULE

Weekend availability is required.
Candidates must be available to work Saturday and Sunday and will receive two consecutive days off during the week.
Day shift is the most likely schedule; however, flexibility to work other shifts is strongly preferred because airport operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Holiday availability may also be required based on operational needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage inventory and parts needed to support repairs and preventive maintenance operations.
  • Create and maintain processes to ensure required materials and parts are available when needed.
  • Purchase and order materials, equipment, parts, and supplies from vendors.
  • Review vendor quotes and help identify suppliers based on pricing, availability, service, and quality.

  • Monitor vendor and contract performance to support compliance with established requirements.
  • Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, part numbers, condition, and accuracy.
  • Identify damaged, incorrect, missing, or unmarked parts and assist with resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and enter parts and material information into the CMMS system.
  • Perform data entry and assist with scheduling workloads and work orders.
  • Organize, stock, move, and distribute parts and materials throughout the operation.
  • Operate a forklift to move parts and materials, including in areas near the airport tarmac.
  • Drive company vehicles and golf carts throughout LAX.
  • Make occasional parts deliveries outside of the airport using a company vehicle when needed.
  • Follow all company, airport, equipment, and workplace safety procedures.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 2+ years of experience in materials purchasing, inventory control, parts coordination, warehouse operations, or a related field.

  • Experience receiving, stocking, organizing, and tracking parts or materials.
  • Comfortable performing heavy lifting and moving items weighing 50-75 pounds.
  • Ability to work Saturday and Sunday, with two consecutive weekdays off.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain required credentials/badging to work within secure areas of an airport.
  • Comfortable working around vehicles, forklifts, aircraft, heavy equipment, and active airport operations.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with CMMS or computerized maintenance tracking systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Forklift or material-handling equipment experience.
  • Purchasing, procurement, vendor coordination, or parts ordering experience.
  • Previous airport operations experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active, hands-on inventory position. Candidates must be able to:
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials weighing approximately 50-75 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and balance.
  • Handle parts, tools, inventory, and equipment throughout the workday.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as authorized.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Work around moving vehicles, mechanical equipment, airport traffic, noise, fumes, and active aircraft operations.
WHY CONSIDER THIS OPPORTUNITY?
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced inventory, warehouse, purchasing, or parts professional who enjoys a hands-on environment and wants to work in a unique airport operation.
The position offers $32.65/hour, full-time hours, long-term stability, and the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

If you have inventory or parts experience, are comfortable with heavy lifting, and can commit to working weekends, we encourage you to apply.
